Oft - often, many times अक्सर / बार-बार

Wonder - to think about something and try to decide what is true  आश्चर्य / अचंभा

Hanging- a large piece of material that is hung on a wall for decoration  लटकने वाला

Peeping- working quickly and secretly   झाँकना

Past- gone by in time  बीतना /  विगत

Slyly- suggesting that you know something secret that other people do not know  गुप्त रीति से

Overhead - above your head, raised above the ground  ऊपर /  ऊपरी

Snugly- warm, comfortable and protected  आराम से /  सुविधा पूर्वक

 

Central idea

A child loves to see the shining round moon. He wonders what its source of light is. He is eager to know why it disappears when the sun rises in the sky. He imagines he could play not even with the moon.

Ans- The child watches the moon slyly when everyone thinks that he is snuggling in the bed.

 

b) Complete these lines of the poem.

    Hanging  in the air.

 

2) Sometimes I’ll watch you,

    Slyly overhead,

    When you think, I’m sleeping

    Snugly, in my bed.

 

Let’s Write

Look at this picture and write five sentences about it.

1) In this picture a boy is looking out from the window of his room.

2) It is the night time.

3) There is a full moon visible in the sky.

4) The sky is full of stars.

5) The boy is thinking about the moon and the stars in the night sky.

 

Let’s Do

Draw the picture of sun, moon stars and clouds, colour them and write a few sentences about them. 


The sun rises in the sky. It is seen during the day.

Clouds bring rain to us.

Moon and stars are present in the night sky.
