Glossary

Invaluable - very valuable or useful अमूल्य

Treasure-  collection of valuable things  खजाना

Lazy -  unwilling to work  अलसी

Artisan - a person who does skilled work  शिल्पकार

Wealth - Large amount of money or property  धन/ संपत्ति

Search - attempt to find खोज

Forever- a very long time, the state of always existing सदैव

Mould- container used for casting statues साँचा 

Suddenly- quickly and unexpectedly अचानक

Remember- to keep in mind याद रखना

Spoil- changing something good into bad खराब करना

Gradually- slowly धीरे-धीरे

Earn- to get money for work कमाना

Realise- to understand एहसास

Expert - a person with special knowledge of something विशेषज्ञ

Sell like hot cakes - to sell quickly or in great number फटाफट बिकना

Initially- at the beginning शुरू में 

Readymade- prepared in advance so that you can use it immediately बना बनाया

a.    Answer the following questions.

Ans- The boy searched for the reassure in his father’s workshop.

Ans- The boy earned money by selling dolls in bazaar.

 

Q.5 What was the treasure that the boy’s father spoke of?

Ans- The treasure that the boy’s father spoke of was his father’s workshop and the art of doll making.

 

b. Fill in the blanks

Grammar in Use

b) Read these sentences carefully.

a)   Bhagwandas had a treasure. What was it? Write in five sentences.

     1.    Bhagwandas had a treasure.

     2.    It was in his father's workshop.

     3.    It was in the form of colours, brushes and mould for making dolls.

     4.    The Treasure had  some readymade and incomplete dolls also.

     5.    He earned money by making and selling dolls.
