All over India, people celebrate different festivals every year. These celebrations are of changing seasons and religious beliefs.

(i)       It is the harvest festival of Tamil Nadu- PONGAL

Future Simple Tense

Now fill in the blanks using the simple future tense:

Read the following passage carefully:
            Raman was a very intelligent but a poor student of class-II. All the teachers and students liked him very much. Raman was sad on the day  of Diwali. He had no money to buy crackers and sweets. His friends knew it so they made a plan to enjoy the festival with Raman. They collected crackers and sweets and went to Raman’s house.

            They  enjoyed their festival with Raman at his house. Raman also felt very happy. He thanked all his friends.

Now answer these questions:
(i)       Why was Raman sad on the day of Diwali?
Ans- Raman was sad because he had no money to buy crackers and sweet.

(ii)      What plan did his friends make?
Ans- His friends made a plan to enjoy the festival with Raman.

(iii)     Then what did they do?
Ans- They collected crackers and sweets and went to Raman’s house.

(iv)     Where did Raman’s friend enjoy the festival?
Ans- Raman’s friends enjoyed the festival at Raman’s house.

Answer the following questions to write about the festival you like, in simple future sentence:
(i)       Which festival do you like most?
Ans- I like the festival of Diwali most.

(ii)      When is it celebrated?
Ans- It is celebrated on the amavasya of kartik month.

(iii)     Why do you celebrate it?
Ans- We celebrate it as it recalls the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya.

(iv)     How is it celebrated?
Ans- It is celebrated by lightening lamps and distributing sweets.

(v)      Which festival does your friend like?
Ans- My friend likes the festival of Holi.
