A timeline is a tool that we can use to help us understand history. It
can tell us what happened at different times. It can tell how much time there
was between two events. It can give us a picture of dates in our minds. That
helps us see how they all fit together.
Timelines aren’t only for old events. People still use them today. They
help us keep track of important dates in our lives. You can even make a timeline for yourself.
A timeline looks a lot like a number line when you begin. Draw a straight
line across the page. Make little marks for the important events in your life.
Your timeline may begin with your birth, including things like the first time
you want, and when you started school. It might show the year that you were in
each grade. The year goes on one side of each mark. The event goes on the other
side. Here is a simple timeline.

The following are mixed but happen in a sequence (order).
Number is set in the order in which they occur.

Some events from the story of Red Riding Hood are
listed below. Arrange them in order from first to last by numbering the events
from 1 to 6 in the order in which they occur.
- A woodcutter comes to save her and remove her grandma from the
wolf’s stomach.
- Little Red Riding Hood puts on her red cloak and sets off to meet
her grandmother.
- A wolf stops her on the way and asks her where she is going.
- When she arrives she sees big teeth and shouts for help.
- He gobbles up her grandmother, dresses like grandma and waits for
Red Riding Hood.
- He tricks her into picking flowers while he goes to her grandmother’s
house.

muddled up due to a bad printing job. She has to first organised the buses in
sequence according to their time of arrival. Then she will know which one is convenient
for her to take. Can you help her?

Disney, identify any five events related to his life and Plot am on the
timeline.
Walt Disney
Walt Disney was the creator of “Mickey Mouse”, founder of “Disneyland”
and “Walt Disney World”. he was born in Chicago, on December 5, 1901.
Walt was always interested in drawing. He sold his sketches when he was
only 7 years old. In 1918, Disney joined the Red Cross where he spent a
year driving an ambulance. He covered his ambulance with drawings and cartoons.
Walt began his career as an advertising cartoonist in 1920. In August
1923, Walt Disney left for Hollywood with nothing but a few drawing materials.
Walt and his brother, Roy together started making animation films.
Walt directed an animation film called “Steamboat Willie” and
created Mickey Mouse in 1928. In 1932, the film “flowers and trees” won
Walt his first Academy Award. In 1937 “Snow White and Seven Dwarfs” was
released. In the next 5 years, Walt completed “ Pinocchio”, “Fantasia”, “Dumbo” and
“Bambi”. He won 36 awards in
total.
Disneyland was launched in 1955 and since then it has entertained more
than 650 million people including president, kings, queens and royalty.
