Whose Horse was it?

Give one word for the following:

(i)       A person who begs.                                             Beggar
(ii)     A person who is unable to see.                          Blind
(iii)    A person who is unable to walk.                        Lame
(iv)    A place where prisoners are kept.                     Prison
(v)     A piece of cloth tied on the head.                      Turban

Fill in the blanks with the words given:

  1. Mr. Lal put a basket on the table. There was nothing in it. He covered it with a black cloth. He took off the cloth and children saw three rabbits in the basket.

  1. My grand father is blind. He can’t see. I read the newspaper to him everyday.

  1.  The children had a ride on a camel, in the zoo. They enjoyed it very much.
Answer these questions:

  1. Who did the young man see on his way to the town?
Ans- The young man saw a beggar on his way to the town.

  1. Where did the two riders stop?
Ans- The two riders stopped at the market place.

  1. Did the beggar get off the horse at the market place?
Ans- No, the beggar did not get off the horse at the market place.

  1. Where did they go for judgment?
Ans- They went to king’s officer for judgment.

  1. What question did the young man ask?
Ans- The young man asked, “Which of horse’s eye is blind?”

  1. Did the beggar give right answer?
Ans- No, the beggar did not give right answer.

  1. what did the king’s officer say to the beggar?
Ans- The king’s officer said to the beggar, “You are a rogue, come with me. I will put you in prison.”

Make the questions with ‘whose’ to get the following answers:

  1. This is Mohan’s bicycle.
Que- Whose bicycle is this?

  1. That is Kamla’s sari.
Que- Whose sari is that?

  1. These are Sunil’s shirts.
Que- Whose shirts are these?

  1. That is Vinod’s bag.
Que- Whose bag is that?

  1. Those are Uma’s books.
Que- Whose books are those?

  1. That is Mr. Pandey’s house.
Que- Whose house is that?

Make questions with ‘whose’ as in example to get the following answers:

  1. This bicycle is Mohan’s.
Que- Whose is this bicycle?

  1. That sari is Kamla’s.
Que- Whose is that sari?

  1. These shirts are Sunil’s.
Que- Whose are these shirts.

  1. That bag is Vinod’s.
Que- Whose is that bag?

  1. Those books are Uma’s.
Que- Whose are those books.

  1. That house is Mr. Pandey’s.
Que- Whose is that house.

The king’s officer came to know that the horse belongs to the young man. How? Write at least five sentences with the help of your text:

The young man took permission to ask a question from beggar. The young man took off his turban and covered horse’s eyes with it. The young man asked to beggar, “Which of the horse’s eye is blind.” The beggar replied, “Left eye.” The king’s officer removed turban and said that both the eyes of horse are fine.
