Give one word of the following :

  1. Birds eat worms.
  2. The fox jumped up, but did not reach the grapes. So he jumped again.
  3. This bicycle belongs to Suresh. His father bought it for him last week.

  5. Once two cats fought over a cake. Each cat said, “That Cake is mine”. A monkey saw this. It went to cats and said, “Stop your fight. Let me be your judge.”
  6. The teacher asked a question, but no boy gave the answer.
  7. The boy threw  a stone at the dog. But the stone did not hit the dog.
  8. Mohan was a very good student. But he failed in the examination. All his teachers were surprised.
  9. I cut the apple into two halves and gave one half to my brother.

Answer these questions:

Ans- Men’s complaint was that the mangoes belong to men and birds eat them all.

  1. What was the birds complaint about the men?
Ans- Bird’s complaint was that the mangoes belong to birds and men eat them all.

  1. Who wanted to eat mango one day?
Ans- A little boy wanted to eat mango one day.

  1. What did the boy do?
Ans- The boy threw a stone  at the bird and hit it.

  1. What did the men want to do?
Ans- The men wanted to kill all the birds.

  1. What did the old man try to stop?
Ans- The old man tried to stop the fight.

  1. Did the old man’s judgement stop the fight?
Ans- No, the old man’s judgement did not stop the fight.

  1. “We also eat fruit.” Who said these words?
Ans- “We also eat fruits”, Worms said these words.

  1. Who quietly eats the mangoes?
      Ans- Worms quietly eat the mangoes.

Read the statements given below and write ‘true’ of ‘false’:

  1. All the birds said, “The mangoes are ours.”                              [True]
  2. An old man said, “The men can have all the mangoes.”           [False]
  3. The worms said, “We also eat fruit.”                                          [True]
  4. The men and the birds agreed to old man’s judgement.           [True]
