One day two ghee merchants named Govind and
Krishan came to Akbar. Govind had a complain against krishan. Govind
said, “Sir, I lent a large amount of money to Krishan, but he didn’t return
it.” Krishan said, “Sir, I didn’t borrow any money from Govind.”
Akbar said,
“Come to me after a week. I will give my judgement then, The merchants
went away.
Then Akbar
called Birbal and asked him to find out the truth.
Next day Birbal
gave a tin of ghee to each merchant. There was a gold coin inside each
tin. He asked him to sell it and pay back the money they get after
selling it.
The merchant
named Govind came to Birbal and gave back a gold coin. Thus Birbal decided that
who has told a lie. And thus Birbal found out who the dishonest person
was.
