For want of a Nail

For want of a nail the shoe was lost,
For want of a shoe the horse was lost,
For want of a horse rider was lost,
For want of a rider the battle was lost,
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost,
And all for I want of a horseshoe nail!

Now make three more questions and answer from the poem, teamwork.

A-We can together make our dream work.

Q-What is fun in the game of basketball?
A- It is fun to shoot the basketball through the hoop.

Q- What will happen if nobody passes the baton in the relay race?
A- If nobody passes the baton in the relay race, race just can't go.

Q-When can it be a big plus?
A- It can be a big plus when you and a me becomes an us.

Picture composition

Look at the picture and answer the questions in one sentence, using the word clues given in the box.

1- Who is laying the bricks?
Ans- A mason is laying the bricks.

2- Who is holding the ladder?
Ans- A labourer is holding the ladder.

3- Who is the man on the ladder?
Ans- An electrician is the man on the ladder.

4- Who is painting the walls?
Ans- A painter is painting the walls.

Now make up a story about the picture. Give names to the people. Write the story showing the importance of teamwork.

A part of the village school building collapsed last year. Since then classrooms were being conducted in open. Five gentlemen from our village came together and undertook the responsibility of repairing the damaged portion. Sitaram, the mason, Ahmad the carpenter, Peter the electrician, Raju the painter and Murali the labourer did a great team work with the help of some other village man. They worked for three months everyday from evening till late night and our building was ready before monsoon. All the teaches and students are very happy now.

In a group, mime an activity (picnic, share, Mela, cricket match etc.) which you enjoy. The rest of the class should guess the activity and say whether it is done in a group
