Ans- There was so much smoke and noise from vehicles at the level crossing because some people do not switch off the engine of their vehicle even while waiting at the level crossing.



Q. What steps can be taken to reduce noise of the vehicles and save petrol and diesel?

Ans. Following steps can be taken to reduce noise of the vehicles and save petrol and diesel:

1-    Switch off the engine while waiting at level crossing.

2-    Service the vehicle regularly.

3-    Avoid unnecessary honking.

4-    Carpooling

5-    Using more public transport.

6-    Use bicycles for short distances.



Q. The route from Goa to Kerala has a total of 2000 bridges and 92 tunnels! Why do you think there are so many bridges and tunnels?

Ans. 2000 bridges and 92 tunnels from Goa to Kerala indicate rivers and mountains in the route.

Coconut tree grows in coastal areas. It grows up to 30m tall.

It has 4-6m long pinnate leaves. Its fruit contains water which is very nutritious. Fruits are used in many food dishes and religious ceremonies. It has fibrous roots. Parts of this tree has many commercial uses.
